Signing in and creating an account

Sign in with a link or code sent to your email, with Google or LinkedIn, or through your company's own page, and create a new account.

For everyone with an account 8 min read Updated

HAPR does not use passwords. You give your email address, and HAPR sends you a link or a code that signs you in. Only people with an account can sign in. You need an account that your organisation has added, or one you create yourself on the sign-up page.

  1. 1
Go to the HAPR sign-in page.
  2. 2
Type your work email in Email.
  3. 3
Press Send me a sign-in link.
  4. 4
Open your inbox and find the email with the subject Your HAPR sign-in link.
  5. 5
Open the link on the same device where you asked for it.
The sign-in page.
  1. 1Type your work email here.
  2. 2Ask for a sign-in link to be emailed to you.

The page changes to Check your inbox and shows the address it sent to. If you typed the wrong address, press Use a different email.

After you sign in, HAPR opens the page that suits your role. That is usually the event hub, or the first dashboard you can see. If you are already signed in and open the sign-in page, HAPR takes you straight on.

Sign in with Google or LinkedIn

On the main HAPR sign-in page you can use a work account instead of email.

  1. 1
Press Continue with Google or Continue with LinkedIn.
  2. 2
Choose your account at Google or LinkedIn and agree when asked.

HAPR signs you in only if the email on that account already has a HAPR account. These two buttons are on the main sign-in page and the sign-up page. They are not on your company's own page.

Sign in with a code in the installed app

When you open the installed HAPR app, the sign-in page asks for a code instead of a link. A link opened from your email would land in your browser, not in the app.

  1. 1
Type your work email in Email.
  2. 2
    Press Send me a code.
  3. 3
Open the email with the subject Your HAPR sign-in code. The code is also in the subject line.
  4. 4
Type the code into the boxes under Enter your code. HAPR signs you in as soon as the last digit is in. You can also press Sign in.

The code needs no particular device. You can ask for it on one device and type it on another.

If you did not get the code, wait for the countdown on Send a new code in 30s to finish, then press Send a new code. Press Use a different email to start again with another address.

If you choose Google or LinkedIn in the installed app and come back still signed out, the page says Not signed in yet? Use the emailed code above.

To put the app on your phone, press Install the app at the foot of the sign-in page in a browser.

Sign in on your company's own page

Some organisations have their own sign-in page with their logo and colours. Your administrator gives you its address. It works like the main page, with these differences.

  • It has no Google or LinkedIn buttons and no link to create an account.
  • Only people from that organisation can use it. Anyone else gets No account found for that email. Contact your administrator.
  • An address that is not a registered company page shows a page not found message.

Create a new account

You can create a free account yourself. Your organisation can also add you, in which case you sign in as above.

  1. 1
    Open the sign-up page.
  2. 2
Type your work email in Email.
  3. 3
Read the line that says you agree to the Terms of Service and Fair Use Policy, and that you have read the Privacy Statement. Pressing the sign-up button means you agree.
  4. 4
Press Sign up with email. You can press Continue with Google or Continue with LinkedIn instead.
  5. 5
Open the email with the subject Confirm your HAPR account and press the link in it.
Creating a free account.
  1. 1Your work email.
  2. 2Press to get the confirmation email.

HAPR creates the account only when you open the confirmation link, so an unconfirmed sign-up leaves nothing behind. Your account starts on the free plan.

  • If you came from the pricing page with a paid plan chosen, the page is headed Create your account and says you will choose payment next. After you confirm, HAPR takes you to the pricing page to finish. See The pricing page.
  • If you came from the hotel sourcing page, the heading reads Create your free hotel sourcing account.
  • If the email already has an account, HAPR sends a sign-in link instead and shows the same Check your inbox page. It never says whether an address has an account.

Sign out

  1. 1
Open the user menu in the top bar.
  2. 2
    Press Log out.

In a browser, HAPR takes you to the public HAPR website. In the installed app, it takes you back to your sign-in page so you stay inside the app.

Good to know

  • Use a permanent work email. Temporary addresses are refused.
  • Your administrator decides whether your account is active. A disabled account, or one outside its access dates, cannot sign in.
  • The first time you sign in, an invited account changes from invited to active by itself. You do nothing.
  • The link and the code both come from one request and expire together.
  • Look in your spam folder if the email does not arrive, and check you typed the address you were invited with.

If something looks wrong

On the sign-in page.

  • Enter your work email. You pressed the button with the field empty.
  • That doesn't look like a valid email. Check the address for typing mistakes.
  • No account found for that email. Contact your administrator. There is no active account for this address, or on a company page the address belongs to another organisation. Ask your administrator to add you or check your address. Do not create a second account for yourself.
  • Too many emails have been requested just now. Please wait a few minutes and try again. HAPR limits how many emails one address or network can ask for in a short time. Wait, then try again.
  • Could not send the sign-in link. Please try again. The email could not be sent. Try again.
  • Could not send the sign-in code. Please try again. The same, in the installed app.

On the code page.

  • Enter the code from your email. The code boxes were empty.
  • That code is invalid or has expired. Check the digits, or press Send a new code. A wrong code empties the boxes.
  • Too many code attempts. Please wait 15 minutes, then request a new code. Wait, then ask for a new code.

When you land back on the sign-in or sign-up page after a link or a Google or LinkedIn sign-in.

  • That link expired or was already used. Enter your email below for a new one. Ask for a new link.
  • We couldn't complete that sign-in. Please try again. The sign-in with Google or LinkedIn was cancelled or failed. Try again.
  • No account found for that login. Create an account or contact your administrator. The Google or LinkedIn email has no HAPR account.
  • Your access is not active right now. Contact your administrator. The account is disabled or outside its access dates.

On the sign-up page.

  • Enter your email. The field was empty.
  • Please use a permanent email address. Use a work address, not a temporary one.
  • Too many new accounts have been created from this network today. Please try again tomorrow, or sign in to an existing account. Try again tomorrow, or from another network.
  • An account already exists for this email address. Please sign in with the address you first used. Another form of your address already has an account. Sign in with the first one.
  • Could not send the confirmation link. Please try again. The email could not be sent. Try again.
  • We couldn't create your account just now. Please try again. Open the confirmation link again or sign up again.
